If you can't tell, this game is inspired by Flappy Bird (hence the name "Dodgy bird"), it expands on the original idea of the game by adding obstacles that appear from all four directions! at the moment it only has 10 levels but I have plans to add an endless (arcade) mode in the future, enjoy!

This is my first ever game that I have published as an aspiring game developer, I started this project about two weeks ago with the goal of learning the basic skills that a game developer should have, these skills being:

  • programming
  • problem solving
  • art and animation
  • sound design
  • time management

and I think I've gained a lot of experience making this game (all assets are made from scratch except the sound effects which I only remixed).

I first started game development about a year ago with Unity but got discouraged from mindlessly following tutorials and decided to take a break, this time (using Godot) I limited myself to experimentation and reading the extremely helpful Godot Docs and only looked for tutorials in desperate situations and I found this approach to be much more fun and fulfilling.

I hope you like this short game of mine, since its my first game made in Godot and the first that I published overall I'm not expecting anything from it but I would really appreciate it if you could leave some constructive criticism, any bugs you find and things you'd like to change about the game.
